I believe that this is the first post that I've done on politics. It can be a touchy subject, but it's a great interest of mine. I enjoy evaluating things in the political realm, and then discerning by means of God's Word. I am conservative in my views, but I do not wish to be in any way obnoxious. The presidential campaign of 2008 has been a whirlwind and quite a show and has, as a result, brought on many unlearned viewers who impulsively say things that they "feel in their gut", based in no part on reason. I seek to be sensible and diplomatic through the whirlwind. I will not say specific things that I have discerned about all that are involved, as I do not wish to make this more than it was meant to be. I believe that the fact that we have a young, black man running for the Democrats, and a liberal Republican with a inexperienced, young woman as his VP, just goes to show that we are near the end times. We should not be surprised as this unfolds knowing that we have been rightly warned in the Scriptures of the days when evil will prevail. We all should be on our guard, using discernment and wisdom as we pray for this election process. Our trust is fully in Christ's sovereignty and power. Many others have written wonderful posts about this issue, that I would wholeheartedly recommend to you. These are a few select ones.
